William Buck Jones, 75, of Independence died Aug. 3.
He was born to Arthur and Julia Estep Jones.
Buck loved spending time with his family and especially playing with his great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gold prospecting and shooting pool.
Buck was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Jones; son, Bill Jones (Gloria); daughters, Debbie (Mike) Ward, Becky (Rick) Kozisek, and Stephanie Hartzell; brother, Leonard Jones; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Service was Thursday at Cornerstone Church of God in Independence.
Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence handled arrangements.
