Salvador Rincon Esquivel, 82, of Independence, Oregon, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Salvador was born on November 7, 1942, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Antonio Rincon and Maria del Refugio Esquivel. He grew up working hard alongside his family on their farm in Rancho Nuevo, a work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. At age 14, his family moved to Monterrey, Nuevo León, where Salvador began working at a local movie theatre. Starting out selling concessions, he steadily worked his way up to Director, eventually administering the accounting department and managing four locations by the time he was 46.
On June 26, 1967, Salvador married the love of his life, Guadalupe Rincon, at Iglesia Cristo Rey in Monterrey. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising their children with love and faith.
In 1989, Salvador and his family migrated to Oregon. He worked in forest reforestation for seven years before beginning a career with the State of Oregon as a custodian - a position he truly enjoyed for 26 years until his retirement.
Although his retirement was short, Salvador filled it with the things he loved most: spending time with Guadalupe and his family, visiting the casino, walking through rose gardens, and cherishing simple moments. He was known for his good sense of humor, his intelligence, and his hardworking nature. His faith in God was central to his life, and he was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Independence, where he served as a lector and eucharistic minister.
The most important part of Salvador's life was his family - his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Salvador is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Guadalupe Rincon, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends who will miss him deeply.
