Independence - Pilar Sifuentez Cruz was born October 11, 1923 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, and passed away in her home on November 20, 2012. She was 89.
Pilar married Fidel Bosquez Cruz, Sr. on August 22, 1948, in Carrizo Springs, Texas. Together they raised three children, and Pilar worked in her own home as a homemaker.
Pilar was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Fidel Sr., who passed away earlier this month. She is survived by her daughter Delma Rincon of Monmouth; daughter Velia Alvarez of Independence; son Fidel S. Cruz, Jr. of Independence; two grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Independence, Oregon. Inurnment will be at Hilltop Cemetery.
