MONMOUTH - Lyle Ladehoff passed away April 21, 2012 in Independence, Oregon. He was born in North Bend, Nebraska on February 12, 1931 to Caroline and Gilbert Ladehoff. He moved to Monmouth, Oregon with his parents in 1942. He attended Campus Elementary School and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1948. Lyle married his high school sweetheart, Calene Sawtelle, on April 16, 1950. He was drafted into the Army in 1952, spending 1 1/2 years in Fulda, Germany serving as a radio operator. He received an honorable discharge in 1954. Lyle was a lineman for the City of Monmouth in 1956-1966. Lineman for City of Milton-Freewater, OR. in 1966-1969 at which time he returned to Monmouth as Superintendent of the Power and Light Department until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, walking, golf, poker, dancing and especially playing basketball. He was a member of the Monmouth Christian Church. Lyle was a kind and loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He lived his life with dignity and grace and was always a gentleman. Lyle is survived by his wife, Calene of 62 years. daughters Sharon (Kevin) Palmer and Susan (Mike) Kozisek, granddaughters, Kynda (Andrew) Dubois, Krista (Chad) Tracy and Leigh Ann Anderson, grandsons, Scott (Stephanie) Anderson, Mike Jr. (Jennifer) Kozisek, Nicholas (Stacy) Anderson, 12 great grandchildren. Lyle was preceeded in death by his parents, brother Leroy and sister Remona Scott and Delores Beversdorf. The family wishes to thank Four Seasons Care Facility and Willamette Valley Hospice staff for their kindness, excellent care and for giving Lyle so much love. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Lyle's Life on April 27th, 2012 between 1:30 - 4:00pm at Lyle's home in Monmouth.
