Elvis Franklin Keen

May 8, 1939 — Sep 26, 2026

Elvis Franklin Keen was born on May 8, 1939, in McClurg, Missouri, to Willie and Kittie Keen. He passed away on September 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, honesty, integrity, and deep love for his family.

Elvis was a hardworking man from an early age. At just 15 years old, he began working for the Valley & Siletz Railroad, where he dedicated 29½ years of his life, working his way up to Conductor. He then continued his railroad career at the Portland Zoo Railroad for another 15 years. His strong work ethic, determination, and perseverance were defining qualities throughout his life. Elvis was a man who never gave up, no matter what challenges came his way.

In 1970, Elvis married his beloved wife, Myrna. Together, they shared 56 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, memories, and lasting love. He was a devoted husband and family man who took pride in caring for those he loved and making sure others were looked after. His caring nature and willingness to help others were among the many qualities that made him special.

When he wasn't working, Elvis enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. He was a talented handyman with a knack for figuring things out and creating things of his own. One memorable example of his ingenuity was an impressive cannon he made out of scrap metal-a testament to his creativity, resourcefulness, and ability to turn ordinary materials into something extraordinary. He had a hardworking spirit and a gift for making things happen.

Above all, Elvis was a family man. He devoted his life to providing, helping, and caring for those around him. His honesty, integrity, determination, and generous heart were the qualities that defined him. He never gave up, and he taught those around him the value of perseverance, responsibility, and always doing your best.

Elvis is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Myrna Keen; his four daughters, Teresa James, Kellie Herrera (Frank), Jennifer Keen, and Mica Keen (Michael Boyd); 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. His family was a tremendous part of his life, and the love he shared across generations is a lasting part of his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Keen and Kittie Conklin, and his brothers, Ralph Keen, Leonard Keen and twin boys Willard and Dillard Keen.

Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
