Elena Ojeda, 85, died surrounded by family. Elena was born in Perry, Kansas on November 23, 1928, and was raised in Salamanca, GTO Mexico. Elena had 6 children: Juanita Escoto, Keizer, Graciela Escoto (dec), Manuel Escoto (dec), Mario Escoto, Salamanca, Antonio Escoto (dec) and Lucia Rodriguez, Salem; 3 brothers, Ciprano of Salamanca, Francisco (dec), and Rodrigo (dec); and 18 grandchildren. Elena returned to the US in 1979 along with Manuel, Antonio, and Lucia and settled in Independence, Oregon. Elena enjoyed crocheting and was an active member of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Viewing Wednesday, 1-4pm at Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence. Service Thursday, 1 pm Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Christian burial following at Hilltop Cemetery.
