Dorothy May Floyd, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on December 8th, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on June 4, 1941, in Fresno CA, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Verl and Alice Reddell. She resided in Independence, OR where she built a life filled with love, faith and service to others.
Dorothy was the devoted wife of the late Marvin Floyd and together they created a legacy of love and faith that lives on through their family. She is survived by her five children: Angela brown, Desiree Snyder, Yolanda Braley, Terrence Floyd, and Jenny Sheets. Her family blossomed to include 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, all of whom she adored and cherished deeply.
A dedicated caregiver, Dorothy retired from Fairview hospital after a career of service to those in need. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she faithfully attended church, generously transported out elderly church members, and gave selflessly to her family and anyone in need.
Dorothy was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in sewing knitting gardening and creating art always sharing her creativity and love with those around her period her unwavering faith and commitment to Christ were at the heart of her life and her greatest wish was that her children and grandchildren would come to know and follow him.
Dorothy's life was a testament to the power of love, faith and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
